macOS clipboard app Maccy has a fake out there stealing passwords

A fake version of Maccy, a popular clipboard manager for macOS, is being used to deliver a newly discovered Mac malware strain called PamStealer. Researchers at Jamf say the malware impersonates the real open-source app, but its actual purpose is to steal data and capture a victim’s login password. PamStealer arrives as a disk image containing an AppleScript file that impersonates Maccy. Once the user opens that file, macOS launches it in Script Editor, where the on-screen instructions tell them to press Command-R. To someone expecting a normal app installer, that may look like an odd setup step. In reality,…

Erosion Creative Director Talks Adventure Time Influence And Creating A Reactive World That Changes Each Time You Die

Erosion was one of the most promising upcoming titles I checked out during Summer Game Fest.  Developed by a small team at Plot Twist (makers of The Last Case of Benedict Fox), the voxel-based game stars a nameless cowboy on a mission to rescue his kidnapped daughter; the twist is that time advances 10 years every time the father dies, meaning his daughter grows older. Sporting a blend of twin-stick shooting, dozens of wacky weapon upgrades and abilities, dungeon crawling, and a highly reactive open world that changes based on your actions, Erosion is full of ambition. We spoke with Plot…

BYD Seal 08 makes a splash for under K, and It gives the Tesla Model 3 a run for its money

The Tesla Model 3 has spent years defining what a premium and functional EV should cost; that’s what we’re used to. However, BYD seems to think that number is way too high.  The Chinese automaker has unveiled a new flagship sedan, the Seal 08, that packs features you don’t normally expect from cars in this segment, blurring the line between affordable and luxury. And after reading its entire spec sheet, it’s actually the price that shakes me the most.  So what exactly does BYD’s new flagship offer? Measuring 5,150 mm long and sitting on a 3,030 mm wheelbase, the BYD…

Valve just gave away the blueprint for its coolest Steam Machine mod

While Valve’s Steam Machine launched at a higher-than-expected price due to the AI-driven chip shortage, it seems that the company is not sitting on its haunches and is still working hard to make the product more enticing to users.  One of the coolest features of the Steam Machine is the user-customizable front faceplate, and Valve has just made it better. The company open-sourced its “Inkterface” project, which allows users to build their own e-ink faceplate for the Steam Machine. Valve uploaded the full BOM list, 3D print files, and instructions for those who want to build their own E-Ink faceplate…

The Video Games You Should Play This Weekend – July 3, 2026

Originally released in 2025, Wanderstop is from the mind of Davey Wreden, best known for The Stanley Parable and The Beginner’s Guide. Those games, in summary, are a little bit about the process of playing and appreciating a video game and what it means to have and give player choice. There is a lot more to them than that, but that’s arguably the short version. By comparison, Wanderstop is more straightforward, but still makes plenty of room for the examination of video games as an entertainment medium. In the game, you are Alta, a former adventurer/warrior who is attempting to take…

Apple’s rumored camera AirPods Pro may have hit a major roadblock

In May, Bloomberg reported that Apple’s camera-equipped AirPods Pro had reached “advanced” testing and could be heading toward early mass production. As someone who has used both AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods Pro 3, I was looking forward to them. This week, a leaker has contradicted that. Kosutami, a prototype collector and occasional Apple leaker, posted on X that the project has been “suspended.” No additional details were provided. The post appeared to correct an earlier June update in which Kosutami had described the product’s development “case” as “concluded,” suggesting the revision was meaningful (via MacRumors). So what were the…

The Soul of Soulslike – Game Informer

IntroductionThe action genre’s relationship with difficulty has been complicated. In their earliest stages, action games were often unreasonably demanding, but this was not always by design. These difficulty spikes and trial-and-error sequences were a result of trailblazing developers figuring out the best practices for requiring precision from players while remaining fair.During the advent of cinematic storytelling in gaming, many action titles offered more leniency in favor of delivering a compelling narrative that a large portion of the audience could easily experience. As a result, beating many action titles during the late ’90s and through the mid-2010s felt more like a formality…

Sony may have been digging the grave of physical PlayStation games for years.

Sony recently announced that physical game discs for new PlayStation releases will end in January 2028, and the timing immediately raised questions. The decision came shortly after Rockstar reportedly generated more than $3 billion in revenue from preorders of GTA 6, including digital editions and code-in-a-box physical copies. That led some critics and fans to wonder whether GTA 6’s massive digital success had pushed Sony into making such a major call. A new report now suggests otherwise. According to ORF Salzburg, Sony’s disc production site in Thalgau, Austria is already being reshaped for a future with far fewer discs, which…

Elon Musk refutes report claiming that an AI device is in development at SpaceX

Elon Musk has denied a Wall Street Journal report claiming SpaceX showed investors a prototype AI device before its recent IPO. “Utterly false,” Musk wrote on X, responding to a post about the report that has since been deleted, offering no further explanation. A denial that leaves more questions than it answers The Journal’s report, which cited people familiar with the matter, described a handset-like prototype shown to investors and stakeholders ahead of the IPO. The device is said to run on a proprietary operating system, use a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip, and pull in AI technology from xAI, the company…
