This GitHub project wants to strip AI watermarks from your content, and things are getting interesting
AI companies are increasingly looking for ways to mark content generated by their models. Now, someone has built an open-source tool designed to remove some of those marks. A GitHub project called watermarks-remover is designed to strip different types of AI provenance signals from text and files. According to its documentation, it can work with invisible Unicode characters, statistical text watermarks and metadata embedded in formats including PNG, JPEG, SVG, PDF, DOCX, ODT, HTML and Markdown. That sounds straightforward until you look at how some of these watermarks actually work. A metadata tag can be removed relatively cleanly. A statistical…
Google’s new Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL get brighter displays, longer zoom, and a new way to grab your attention
Google’s newest Pixels are finally here, and the Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL are doing most of the heavy lifting this time around. While the standard Pixel 11 settles for a modest refresh, with a faster chip, double the base storage, and faster wireless charging, the two Pro models step up with a brighter, more durable display, better cameras, and HiLight, an array of LED lights around the flash that glow when the phone is face down, signaling whether it’s worth reaching for or better left alone. A faster Tensor G6 chip and a storage bump for the Pro…

Sony has confirmed the next batch of games coming to the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog in August, and there are two particularly great additions. Helldivers 2 is available through the service for the first time, while the excellent Kingdom Come: Deliverance II joins later this month. The two games offer very different experiences, but both are among the most notable releases of the past few years. Two very different games headline August Helldivers 2 launched in February 2024 and quickly became one of the biggest multiplayer breakout hits of the year. More than two years later, it still has a…
As voice agents and photorealistic avatars move into enterprise software, the sales call is becoming a test case for whether AI can do more than summarize a conversation after it ends. The pressure point is familiar to anyone who has sat through a software demo: a buyer asks about a security review, integration edge case, migration plan, or competitive tradeoff, and the answer often belongs to a sales engineer who is on another call. 1mind is one company working on that shift. The San Francisco startup builds AI sales agents it calls Superhumans for web, product, email, and live sales…
Apple’s MacBook Neo has given Windows laptop makers something to think about, and Lenovo could be the latest company preparing an answer. Windows Latest has obtained images of an upcoming budget laptop called the Lenovo IdeaPad Vibe, which is expected to come in both Qualcomm Snapdragon and AMD versions. It also appears Lenovo isn’t playing it safe with the design, as the laptop is shown in seven different colors. Lenovo is bringing some color to budget Windows laptops The leaked images show the IdeaPad Vibe in pink, yellow, orange-brown, green, navy blue, silver, and mint teal finishes. Each has a…
Despite its origins as a comic book publisher, Marvel is fighting game royalty on par with the likes of Mortal Kombat and The King of Fighters. But after the disappointing Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite fell massively short of expectations, and with the release of Arc System Works’ Dragon Ball FighterZ giving hyper tag-team fighting game fans a new home, Marvel’s reign in the fighting game world felt at its end. Just shy of a decade since Infinite, however, Arc System Works delivers Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls, a fighter that is as much of an advancement to the genre as it…
Anthropic just made its Claude browser extension a lot smarter, and it can remember your conversations on desktop, web, or mobile. The Claude in Chrome side panel now runs as a full Claude Cowork session, meaning your conversations, skills, and connectors all carry over between your browser and Claude’s desktop, web, and mobile apps. Before this update, browser sessions stayed completely separate from everything else, so switching devices meant starting over. How Claude in Chrome actually works now Claude in Chrome can now see whatever page you are on and take real actions inside it, including clicking links, typing text,…
Turning a regular bike into an e-bike just got easier. The new Asus Oxiis E250G1 can clamp onto your seatpost and press a small motorized roller against your rear tire, that adds electric assist to almost any bike you already own. How does the Asus Oxiis E250G1 work The device uses a friction drive system, in which a compact motor unit presses against the rear tire to spin it faster when you need extra power. An anti-slip mechanism keeps that roller gripping the tire consistently, even on bumpy terrain, so power transfer stays smooth instead of slipping out under load.…
Google’s Pixel 11 family is here, and on paper, it fixes several things I wanted to see improved from the Pixel 10 generation. Tensor G6 promises a meaningful performance bump on all four models, while Google has upgraded cameras throughout the lineup, along with faster charging, and the Pro models get brighter and tougher displays. The Pixel 11 Pro Fold also undergoes much-needed design refinements. These are some solid improvements for an annual update to Google’s flagship lineup. But whether they justify replacing a Pixel 10 you bought a year ago is a different question. Having covered and used enough…
