Sharing files on Galaxy S26 just got simpler with AirDrop support

Sharing files on your phone is getting easier if you’re using Samsung’s latest device. The Galaxy S26 is gaining AirDrop-style support through an update to its built-in sharing system, starting March 23. That change brings a more familiar way to send photos, videos, and files between devices without relying on extra apps or workarounds. It’s especially useful if you move between platforms or have dealt with inconsistent transfer options before. Samsung says the launch begins in Korea, with availability set to follow in North America, Europe, and Southeast Asia. Timing may vary by market, but the rollout is clearly designed…

GrapheneOS takes a hard line on privacy, no ID checks anywhere

GrapheneOS is doubling down on privacy at a time when most platforms are moving the other way. The security-focused Android alternative says it won’t require personal information from users, even as governments tighten identity and data collection rules. In a recent public post, the team said the OS will remain usable without accounts or ID checks worldwide. That decision comes with a clear tradeoff. If local laws demand verification, access in those regions could disappear instead of the platform changing its approach That puts GrapheneOS on a direct collision path with a broader push toward verified online services. While most…

Elon Musk is building a TeraFab chip factory, and it’s unlike anything in the world

Elon Musk stated that every chip he can buy today only covers about 2% of what his companies actually need. Rather than wait for the rest of the world to catch up, he announced TeraFab on Saturday night, a chip factory in Austin and a joint venture between Tesla and SpaceX. The announcement came via a livestream broadcast from the old Seaholm Power Plant in downtown Austin. “We either build the TeraFab, or we don’t have the chips, and we need the chips, so we’re going to build the TeraFab,” Musk said. The facility will be built on the Tesla…

Research finds AI summaries are better for learning, even if they can change your opinions

Most of us now get our information using AI chatbots and search engines. Even Google shows us an AI summary first before guiding us towards the sources it compiled the answers from. A new study from Yale suggests that while AI-generated answers are fast, convenient, and easy to read, they can also influence our opinions. Daniel Karell, an assistant professor of sociology at Yale, and his team wanted to find out whether reading AI-written summaries of historical events helped people learn better than reading human-written ones.  To test this, participants were shown short summaries of historical events, some written by…

Apple’s plans to enhance the iPhone camera are tangled in a legal mess

Apple’s plans to seriously upgrade the iPhone camera just got… complicated. We recently reported that Apple was exploring ways to bring Halide-inspired pro features to the iPhone 18 Pro, even going as far as considering an acquisition of the app’s developer, Lux Optics. But as it turns out, that story has now taken a legal turn, with a lawsuit now at the center of it all. Watch this moonwalking humanoid robot impress with lifelike agility

A new video (above) out of South Korea features the field tests and interaction capabilities of KAIST Humanoid v0.7, developed at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). The impressive humanoid robot was developed at KAIST’s Dynamic Robot Control & Design Laboratory (DRCD) and deploys actuators and other technology that was developed in-house. In the video below, you can watch the bipedal bot walk, jog, and jump in an incredibly human-like way. It also shoots a soccer ball toward a goal (disappointingly there’s no robot goalkeeper there to challenge it), and performs a perfect moonwalk along astroturf. And…

Apple is reportedly sitting on new products because Siri AI isn’t ready

Apple might have new products ready to go, but it’s just not launching them yet. According to a recent report from Bloomberg, inventory for devices like the HomePod, HomePod mini, and Apple TV is running low across Apple Stores globally. Normally, that’s a clear sign that refreshed models are around the corner. But this time, there’s a twist. Apple is reportedly holding back releases because its next-generation Siri and AI features aren’t ready yet. Why are these products being delayed? The main reason here is that Siri is still playing catch-up. The report suggests Apple has had updated versions of…

AI frame generation is coming to the PS5 Pro

Sony is preparing to take its PlayStation graphics technology a step further, with AI-powered frame generation now confirmed as a future feature for PlayStation platforms. While details remain limited, the update could significantly improve visual smoothness and performance—especially on hardware like the PS5 Pro. A New Step Beyond Upscaling In a recent interview with Digital Foundry, PlayStation lead system architect Mark Cerny confirmed that machine learning-based frame generation is in development and “should be seen at some point on PlayStation platforms.” Frame generation works by using AI to create entirely new frames between rendered ones, effectively increasing the perceived frame…

Why everyone hates NVIDIA DLSS 5 (but will love it eventually)

Upscaling, or reconstructing frames for video games in real time, is a pretty controversial practice. Pursists balk at the idea, but users with a “weak” or mid-tier gaming system appreciate the extra fluidity that comes with it. NVIDIA does it. So does AMD. And Intel, too. But all hell broke loose when Nvidia announced the next iteration of its super-sampling tech, particularly owing to the excessively AI-fied look of the visuals, especially human faces. It’s been a wild few weeks in the tech world, and if you’ve been following the DLSS 5 (Deep Learning Super Sampling) saga, you know it’s…
