That VPN you are running on your Android 16 device may not be doing as much as you think. A newly discovered bug in Android 16 allows any app on your device to send traffic outside your VPN tunnel, exposing your real IP address to the internet, regardless of which VPN you use or how locked down your settings are. The vulnerability was first reported by a Zurich-based security engineer going by the handle @cybaqkebm, and was later flagged by VPN provider Mullvad, which confirmed the bug affects all VPN apps on Android 16, not just its own. How bad…
There is apparently a storied and infamous history to the Bubsy series, but I know little of it. And after enduring Bubsy 4D, a modern platforming take on the orange and obnoxious bobcat, I have no desire to learn of it. Bubsy 4D features a passable platformer style built upon comboing from one move to the next. I rarely felt the tight control I wanted over the mascot character, and it’s held back by repetitive and bland level design. That this platforming is placed within a nonsensical world with threadbare characters and villains, an unsightly visual style, and terrible writing…
Chinese researchers claim a new solid-state battery can survive ultra-fast charging while delivering dramatically higher energy density, potentially reshaping the future of electric vehicles. Researchers at the Chinese Academy of Sciences claim they have developed a new solid-state lithium-metal battery capable of delivering extremely high energy density while surviving ultra-fast charging conditions – a combination the global EV industry has been chasing for years. According to the research paper published in the Journal of the American Chemical Society, the prototype battery achieved an energy density of 451.5 Wh/kg while maintaining stable cycling performance for 700 charge cycles under a 20C…
When you think of the Chelsea Flower Show, robots are probably the last thing on your mind. Yet, the University of Lincoln showed up with exactly that and walked away with a Silver Gilt medal. The exhibit, RoboCrops: Plant Selection, Beyond the Visible, was put together by the University’s Lincoln Institute for Agri-Food Technology, or LIAT, and placed right in the show’s GreenSTEM zone. That’s the section dedicated to exhibitions exploring the intersection of horticulture, science, technology, and the environment. What is a robot actually doing at a flower show? The star of the exhibit was PhenAIx, a robotic system…
If not for my love for Arc Browser, which has sadly become an abandonware, I would have used Vivaldi. No other browser comes even close to the customization and features it offers. And with its latest version 8.0 update, Vivaldi is making an even stronger case to ditch other browsers in its favor. I like that while browsers like Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge have been busy packing AI into every corner, Vivaldi has been quietly delivering features users actually want. The headline feature is a new design language called “Unified”. Previously, the different parts of the browser, tabs, toolbars,…
It was recently confirmed that the next Call of Duty game will not launch on the PS4, putting more pressure on longtime holdouts to finally upgrade. Sony’s Days of Play 2026 sale would have been the perfect opportunity to buy a PS5 at a discount, especially after the recent console price hike. However, according to a new Dealabs report from reliable tipster billbil-kun, that may not be happening this year. What discounts are expected during Days of Play 2026? According to billbil-kun, Days of Play 2026 will run from May 27 to June 10. The sale will also overlap with…
CapCut is bringing its editing tools to Gemini, and your creative workflow will never be the same

tvOS 27 is finally getting this iOS accessibility feature, and your eyes will thank you for it
tvOS updates tend to be hit or miss each year. Sometimes WWDC delivers a genuinely exciting set of Apple TV features, and sometimes you’re left wondering why you even tuned in. With tvOS 27 set to be unveiled next month, the rumor mill has been unusually quiet. That said, Apple did confirm at least one new feature this week, and it’s a useful one. So what’s coming to tvOS 27? iOS has had a text size accessibility feature that allows users to increase the text size on their iPhone. It’s a godsend feature for anyone with poor eyesight. tvOS has…
Discord just completed something it started back in 2023, and while the result is genuinely impressive, there’s a big asterisk in place. As of early March 2026, every standard voice and video call on Discord is end-to-end encrypted (E2EE), and you don’t have to toggle any switches, as the feature is enabled by default. The encryption is based on DAVE, which, for the uninitiated, is Discord’s own open-source protocol. Nearly three years after we started, every voice and video call on @Discord (except Stages) is now end-to-end encrypted (E2EE). No opt-in required.Shipping this seamlessly across web, desktop, mobile, apps/bots, consoles, and…
AI can pass the Turing Test in live chats and appear more human than us. I am spooked now
AI can pass the Turing Test in live chats, and the latest result lands with a chill. In a UC San Diego study, GPT-4.5 outperformed real participants at convincing judges there was a person on the other side. The setup was harder to shrug off than a standard benchmark. Judges reacted to real-time exchanges rather than static prompts, then made a fast call based on conversation alone. The unsettling part is how familiar the skill looks. The model didn’t need a body, a voice, or a biography. It only needed to sound like someone. How did AI beat the human…
