The recent Disney-Google fallout went beyond YouTube TV subscribers losing access to all Disney channels. Disney also pulled its entire movie catalog from Google TV and YouTube and dropped support for Google from its movie syncing service, Movies Anywhere.

Although the companies settled their disagreement by November 14 and restored all Disney channels on YouTube TV, Disney didn’t relist its movies on Google’s digital storefronts until the end of last month. Nearly a month later, users can now finally link their Google accounts to Movies Anywhere to access movies purchased from Google Play and YouTube.

According to 9to5Google, affected users have started receiving an email announcing the change, with an option to reconnect Google Play and YouTube to Movies Anywhere. Users can click the link in the email to reconnect their account and regain access.

Reconnect your Google account to Movies Anywhere

If you haven’t received the email yet, you can manually reconnect your Google account from Movies Anywhere’s settings. To do so, open the drop-down menu in the top-right corner, select Settings, and then choose the Manage Retailers option from the sidebar.

Click the Connect button next to Google’s listing, and follow the on-screen instructions to reconnect your account. Once that’s done, you should once again be able to access movies purchased from Google Play and YouTube within Movies Anywhere.

With Google back as a Movies Anywhere partner, users caught in the middle of the Disney-Google dispute can breathe a sigh of relief. This update effectively closes one of last remaining consequences of the standoff and brings things back to normal.
