The world’s first 6K monitor with glasses-free 3D viewing has arrived

Ahead of the CES 2026, the South Korean tech giant Samsung has released what it claims is the “industry’s first 6K glasses-free 3D monitor.” The 32-inch monitor features an IPS panel, supports a peak refresh rate of 165Hz, and has HDMI 2.1 and DP 2.1 ports, but its main highlight is glasses-free 3D rendering.

Unlike traditional 3D displays that require bulky eyewear (and a fair bit of patience), Samsung’s 6K 3D Odyssey G9 (G90XH) uses an advanced lenticular lens system paired with eye-tracking cameras to determine the direction of your gaze and adjust the perspective for each eye, creating the illusion of depth, resulting in a 3D look.

Where glasses-free 3D finally makes sense (and who it’s really for)

Samsung’s press release also mentions that PC gamers can enjoy 3D effects “developed in collaboration with game studios.” Titles like The First Berserker: Khazan, Lies of P: Overture, and Stellar Blade “offer added dimensionality that enhances terrain, distance, and object separation” beyond 2D gameplay.

For years, 3D displays have lived in a “cool demo, awkward reality” category. While they’ve been a cool party trick, they’ve never been convenient enough to be a part of our day-to-day lives. However, the 6K 3D Odyssey G9 (G90XH) changes that conversation.

Alongside providing the added depth without bulky glasses, the monitor also offers an ultra-fast 165Hz refresh rate (up to 330Hz in Dual Mode) and a 1ms gray-to-gray response time, making it the ideal choice for gamers, developers, or creators who want a high-end, ultra-responsive monitor.

Besides gamers and creators, I could also see the new 3D monitor appealing to designers, architects, and 3D modellers, who can utilize the depth perception to better visualize designs or renders. For others, the monitor could help view 3D movies and other compatible content.

Samsung hasn’t announced the 6K 3D Odyssey G9 (G90XH)’s launch date or pricing yet, which usually means “expensive, and not tomorrow.” However, as with previous Odyssey releases, the company could begin with limited availability and gradually expand the product’s launch into more markets.

However, we do know that the company will showcase the full Odyssey 2026 lineup at CES 2026. Other companies, like Lenovo, are also preparing for tech conference with interesting products, such as a cool laptop with a hidden display under its lid or a self-charging keyboard.
