Sony has quietly expanded its INZONE gaming lineup, and this time, it’s not just for the players who treat every match like a competitive tournament. On April 14, 2026, Sony Electronics announced the INZONE H6 Air, a wired open-back gaming headset, alongside a Glass Purple edition of the INZONE Buds.

Unlike the closed-back headphones that dominate the current gaming market, the H6 Air takes a different approach. Its open-back design is aimed at players who prefer immersive story games, like The Witcher or Horizon Zero Dawn.

What makes the INZONE H6 Air stand out?

Generally speaking, open-back headphones are better suited for story-driven games, primarily because they create a wider, more natural soundstage. All these qualities make audio feel like it’s coming from around you (as if the sound is natural), rather than inside your head.

The headphones feature the same 40mm drivers as Sony’s MDR-MV1 studio monitor headphones, designed to deliver wide spatial depth and controlled bass. At just 199 grams (excluding the detachable microphone and cable), this is Sony’s lightest gaming headphone yet.

It also uses a similar spring-hinge headband design as the INZONE H9 II, for extended comfort. For a clear voice, there’s a cardioid boom mic aimed at the user’s mouth. Connecting the headphones via the USB-C audio box (included in the box) unlocks the new RPG/Adventure equalizer preset, developed in collaboration with PlayStation Studios.

The INZONE H6 Air headphones are available for $199.99 and can be purchased now via Amazon and Best Buy.

What else did Sony drop alongside the headset?

The INZONE Buds get a new color: a transparent “Glass Purple” colorway that joins the existing black and white options. Although the earbuds don’t sport an entirely transparent design, they feature a see-through exterior with a very deep purple hue and the brand’s lettering at the top.

The earbuds are priced at $239.99, and they’re also available on Amazon and Best Buy.
