Pokémon Legends: Z-A launched last week on October 16 for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, and in just one week, nearly 6 million copies of the game have been sold. According to a press release from The Pokémon Company, Legends: Z-A sold 5.8 million copies in one week, and around half of those were sold on Switch 2.

This makes Legends: Z-A the fifth-best first-week performer for the Pokémon series. Above it are Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet at 10 million copies sold in three days, Pokémon Legends: Arceus at 6.5 million in three days, Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield at 6 million in three days, and Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl also at 6 million in three days, as noted by VideoGamesChronicle.

Game Informer hasn’t yet published its Pokémon Legends: Z-A review, but in the meantime, you can read Game Informer’s reviews for Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Pokémon Violet/Scarlet, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl, and Pokémon Sword/Shield.
