Phil Spencer Teases Forza, Halo Remaster, Fable, Gears Of War: E-Day For 2026

Today’s Xbox Games Showcase 2025 wrapped up after plenty of new announcements, including Persona 4 Revival, an Outer Worlds 2 release date, our first look at the ROG Xbox Ally, and more. But some might have noticed that while today’s presentation focused a lot on 2025, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer teased some plans for Xbox’s 25th anniversary next year; and it seemingly includes Playground Games’ Fable, Gears of War: E-Day, an unannounced Forza game, and the Halo remaster reportedly in development, according to The Verge.

During today’s showcase, Spencer said the following around the stream’s two-hour mark (including the 30-minute countdown at the top of the stream), as spotted by Kotaku’s Ethan Gach: “I’m excited to share that players will get to celebrate 25 years of Xbox with a new Fable, the next Forza, Gears of War: E-Day, and the return of a classic that’s been with us since the beginning.”

We already knew Fable was coming next year after a delay out of 2025 back in February. And though we knew about Gears of War: E-Day, we didn’t know it was set to launch in 2026 before Spencer’s comments. We still don’t know what the next Forza is – Horizon is up next in the franchise’s traditional cadence – but it sounds like it’s coming next year alongside Halo Studios’ (formerly 343 Industries) remaster of Halo: Combat Evolved.

Editor’s Note: The text has been updated to reflect wording about the Halo remaster that’s reportedly in development.
