Motorola Razr Fold could finally hit the shelves next month

After teasing the Razr Fold at CES 2026 and announcing the handset at MWC 2026, Motorola has been teasing prospective buyers without a definitive launch date. However, those who’ve been waiting faithfully can finally breathe, as the Razr Fold has got a real launch date (but there’s a catch).

How much does the Razr Fold cost?

Motorola is now accepting pre-orders for the Razr Fold in the United Kingdom and Europe, with shipments confirmed for May 6, 2026, making a definitive launch date for the market. For the regions, the phone’s launch price is £1,799.99 (roughly $2,436) for the only variant with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.

To lure in early adopters, the brand is also offering a free Moto Watch, Moto Buds Loop, and a £220 upfront discount. This reduces the effective price of the phone from £1,799.99 to £1,579.99 (about $2,138).

To me, the pricing seems a tad on the higher side, especially since Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7, one of the best book-style foldables the market has ever seen, is available in the United Kingdom from £1,799 for the baseline variant with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

What does the Razr Fold offer?

However, Motorola is offering quite a lot of freebies, making the deal look more attractive than it might be, especially for buyers who already have a smartwatch and TWS earbuds.

For the price, the Razr Fold offers an 8.1-inch inner foldable screen, a 6.6-inch cover screen, runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 (which isn’t Qualcomm’s top-tier chip), and features a 6,000 mAh battery that supports 80W wired fast charging.

The catch, however, is that Motorola has yet to announce an official pre-order or sales commencement date for interested buyers in the United States. Anyways, we can collectively eye the May 6 launch date, hoping that something is coming for the American buyers around the same time.
