Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault Hits Early Access This October

Moonlighter, the charming 2018 indie that’s part dungeon crawler/ and part shop sim, is getting a sequel. While we knew it was set to launch in Early Access sometime this year, Gamescom’s Opening Night Live Showcase just revealed its exact date: October 23.

Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault sports a new, cel-shaded 3D art style, a notable change from the pixelated art in its predecessor. That said, it retains its isometric perspective, so it shouldn’t change the gameplay too drastically. You can get a closer look at the game in the gallery below.

Just like the original, players will run a shop to make money during the day and raid dangerous dungeons by night, using the materials they harvest from their adventures to sell as wares the next day. From there, they can use money to purchase new weapons and upgrades.

The game will launch in Early Access on Steam and Xbox PC Game Pass Preview on Thursday, October 23. When it hits 1.0, developer Digital Sun also plans to release the game on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
