Lenovo’s refresh of its Legion Y700 Android gaming tablet has been a long time coming. Last year, a leak first hinted that the company was working on the next-gen version featuring an upgraded chip and longer battery life. Now, Lenovo has officially confirmed that the upgraded Legion Y700 is on the way.

The original Legion Y700 earned a following thanks to its compact size, sharp display, and gaming-focused design, making it a favorite among gamers who wanted a portable Android tablet capable of handling demanding titles. Lenovo’s refresh comes as interest in small, high-performance gaming tablets continues to grow.

Lenovo Legion Y700 refresh official teaser.

The company teased the upcoming gaming tablet in a recent post on Weibo (via Notebookcheck), with images showcasing it in black and white colorways. While Lenovo did not reveal any specifications, the images suggest it may have a single rear-facing camera paired with an RGB ring, along with prominent Legion branding on the back.

High-end specs expected for the next-gen Legion Y700

According to reliable tipster Digital Chat Station, the upgraded Lenovo Legion Y700 will feature an 8.8-inch LCD panel with a 3K resolution and 165Hz refresh rate. The tablet is tipped to be powered by Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, which should make it a significant upgrade over the current model. Other leaked specs include a large 9,000mAh battery and a 50MP rear camera, though none of these details have been confirmed by Lenovo yet.

For now, Lenovo has only confirmed that the tablet exists and is coming soon. Digital Chat Station points to a March release in China, so more information may surface in the weeks leading up to the annoucement. Pricing and international availability details are still under wraps.
