Ever since Google rebranded the Fitbit app as Google Health, the app has been a work in progress. Version 5.02 is here to fix things, with features that shouldn’t have been removed in the first place.

The two that most users will notice immediately are Hourly Activity and Naps, both of which had quietly disappeared from the redesigned app (via 9to5Google).

So what exactly is back in Google Health 5.02?

Hourly Activity presents a chart of your step progress each hour alongside your daily step goal. You can add it back to your Today or Health tab using the customize option or the pencil icon.

Naps are also back, though they’re Android-only for now. Recorded naps now appear on their own dedicated tabs within your daily Sleep Score view, which means they’re simpler to review and compare on a day-to-day basis. iPhone users will get the feature with version 5.03.

The Restlessness bar now sits directly beneath the sleep stages graph, making it easier to read your restlessness/awake data. Deleting and editing sleep sessions are also properly supported again.

What else did Google fix or improve in this update?

The Today tab now offers an Expanded view option that shows you more of your metrics at a glance without swiping across the screen. Reordering metrics on Today has also been simplified.

Nutrition tracking gets three changes. Food search results now load faster, while estimated macronutrients now appear before you finalize a food log. The Nutrition tile has also been updated to display your total calorie intake alongside calories you have left for the day.

Android users also get food search results showing serving units and calories directly in search, yet another feature that iOS users will get with version 5.03. Finally, you can now delete individual exercise sessions, food logs, and weight logs synced from partner apps directly in Google Health.

The Google Health app update is live on iOS, while the Android version is gradually rolling out.
