Developer Pearl Abyss has revealed the official PC system requirements for its upcoming open-world action-adventure game Crimson Desert, giving players a clearer idea of what kind of hardware they will need before the game launches next week.

According to the requirements listed on the game’s official website, Crimson Desert will require at least a mid-range gaming PC to run. The minimum specs include a Ryzen 5 2600X or Intel Core i5-8500 processor, paired with 16GB of RAM and either an AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT or an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card. The game will also require Windows 10 (64-bit 22H2 or newer), DirectX 12 support, and about 150GB of available SSD storage.

For those looking to run the game with higher graphical settings, Pearl Abyss recommends stepping up to a Ryzen 5 5600 or Intel Core i5-11600K processor while keeping the same 16GB of RAM. On the graphics side, the recommended GPUs include the Radeon RX 6700 XT or the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080. The storage and operating system requirements remain the same.

Crimson Desert’s PC requirements look manageable for many existing gaming rigs

While the requirements are not exactly lightweight, they are still lower than what gamers may have expected, given the scale and visuals shown in the game’s trailers and demos. Crimson Desert features large open environments, dynamic weather, and complex physics systems, all powered by Pearl Abyss’ proprietary BlackSpace engine.

The relatively accessible specs suggest the developer has put effort into optimizing the game across a range of hardware. Even mid-range GPUs that are several years old, like the GTX 1060, are listed in the minimum requirements, which means many existing gaming PCs should be able to run the game with low settings.

Crimson Desert is scheduled to launch on March 19 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. If your PC meets the outlined requirements, you can now pre-order the game on Steam and get into it on launch day. If your current setup falls short, it might be a good time to check out our guide on building a gaming PC to see how you can upgrade your system.
