The “micro” build: why your next PC should fit in a shoebox

For decades, PC gaming meant owning a monolith: a massive, flashing tower that dominated your floor space. But in 2026, the era of the giant box is over. Components have become efficient enough that you no longer need 60 liters of air to cool them. The “Small Form Factor” (SFF) movement’s gone mainstream, proving that you can fit an RTX 5080 and a top-tier CPU into a case the size of a shoebox. It’s minimal, it’s sophisticated, and it looks a lot better on a desk than a plastic tower. If you’re ready to downsize without downgrading performance, this is…

The Video Games You Should Play This Weekend – February 6

I bought a Riffmaster Wireless Guitar this weekend because they were $50 off (and still are, I believe). I have been hunting for a full Rock Band 4 set at a reasonable price for a few years, and it has been a futile exercise. But the Riffmaster guitar, plus Fortnite Festival, has gotten me close to the nostalgic Rock Band/Guitar Hero experience I have been pining for. I was initially underwhelmed by the song selection. It had some music I liked, but it was limited, and there is no simple option to outright buy songs that have been available to…

YouTube now lets you watch content auto-dubbed in your own language

YouTube is improving its auto-dubbing feature further to make it easier for viewers to watch videos in languages they actually understand. Auto-dubbing uses AI to translate and replace a video’s spoken audio with a dubbed version in another language. The feature now supports 27 languages, and viewers can set a preferred language in YouTube’s settings. When a dubbed version is available, YouTube will automatically serve it in the selected language. So if a video exists in another language, YouTube wants it to feel accessible the moment you press play. YouTube is making auto-dubs sound more natural YouTube says it knows…

NASA astronauts can now carry their iPhones on missions to click epic space photos

NASA is finally changing a long-standing policy about what astronauts can carry into space. Astronauts heading to space will now be allowed to carry smartphones on missions, opening the door to more candid photos, videos, and yes, even the occasional zero-gravity selfie. NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman confirmed the change on X, saying astronauts will soon fly with the latest smartphones “to capture special moments for their families and share inspiring images with the world.” He added that NASA challenged long-standing approval processes to qualify modern hardware faster, calling it a “small step in the right direction.” NASA astronauts will soon…

2027 Audi A6 Sportback e-tron and Q6 e-tron have some of the coolest tech we’ve seen in a car

If we measured EV updates on their “coolness quotient,” Audi’s newly revised 2027 A6 Sportback e-tron and Q6 e-tron lineups would probably top the chart. The automaker has released what I’d say are a bunch of lifestyle upgrades that make the cabin as entertaining and intuitive as it is practically possible. Both the 2027 A6 Sportback e-tron and Q6 e-tron get a redesigned Audi Digital Stage (the combination of infotainment screen and instrument panel) with improved graphics, fewer menu lists, and intuitive visual tiles. You can also mirror the navigation or media into the virtual cockpit. A tech refresh that…

Apple might soon allow Gemini and ChatGPT on CarPlay for voice control

Apple AI foundations are opening across its entire portfolio. Thanks in no part to the slow development of Siri, Apple had to piggyback atop ChatGPT for Apple Intelligence. A few weeks ago, the company announced that it would use the same foundations as Gemini to power the next-gen version of Siri.  What’s changing? The next avenue for “AI externalization” in Apple’s ecosystem is CarPlay. According to Bloomberg, Apple is planning to allow AI models from other companies on its in-car digital connectivity system. So far, CarPlay has only allowed Siri as the sole digital assistant. “With the move, AI providers…

Mewgenics – Review In Progress

For the past several weeks, I’ve been hacking away at Mewgenics, the latest game from The End is Nigh Duo Tyler Glaiel and Edmund McMillen, the latter of which is also known for creating The Binding of Issac. That said, Mewgenics is absolutely massive, and while I’m not finished with it yet, there’s plenty to talk about already. My dozens of hours so far have been quite enjoyable, thanks to incredibly varied and engaging combat and an all-timer soundtrack. Though it’s frustrating at times and the humor doesn’t always hit, Mewgenics, which has been in the works in some form…
