iPhone 17 Air and Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim Tipped to Get Smaller Batteries than Standard Models
Apple and Samsung are said to be readying ‘slim’ versions of their upcoming flagship phones. A tipster now suggests that the purported devices, dubbed the iPhone 17 Air and Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim, may ship with much smaller battery capacities than their flagship equivalents. This move is speculated to be in order to maintain the thin form factor of the handsets. Notably, the iPhone 17 Air is expected to debut in September alongside other models in the iPhone 17 series, and while the Galaxy S25 series is scheduled to launch next week, the arrival of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim…
It seems as though Panasonic forced LG Display’s hand when it announced at CES 2025 the new panel technology at use in its new Z95B OLED TV — a new four-layer OLED panel structure that increases brightness while improving efficiency at the same time. Today, LG Display has confirmed that it has developed this new tech, while providing more details than LG Electronics did last week when we met with them. For context, the new G5 OLED LG debuted gets brighter than last year’s model, but without the benefit of the MLA (Micro Lens Array) technology LG developed specifically to…
NASA astronaut Don Pettit has been busy with his camera again. The crack photographer recently shared another stunning image, this one captured from the window of a Crew Dragon spacecraft docked at the International Space Station (ISS). “One photo with: Milkyway, Zodical [sic] light, Starlink satellites as streaks, stars as pin points, atmosphere on edge showing OH emission as burned umber (my favorite Crayon color), soon to rise sun, and cities at night as streaks,” Pettit wrote in a post accompanying the photo. One photo with: Milkyway, Zodical light, @Starlink satellites as streaks, stars as pin points, atmosphere on edge…
NFL Playoff season is here, and we know you’re mostly ready. You’ve got the best TV for sports set up in your viewing den, picked up an air fryer for the halftime meal, and have a great streaming service ready for watching the games. Wait, you don’t have a streaming service picked out? It turns out you aren’t alone, as finding the games you want to watch can be one of the most stressful (and least straightforward) parts of watching football. This time, we’re recommending Sling, especially if Fox is available in your local area. Tap the button below and…
Table of Contents Table of Contents What is the Astropad Bookcase anyway? What I like about the Astropad Bookcase What could be improved with the Astropad Bookcase Do you have an iPhone or Android phone? Of course you do. Do you have an e-reader? Maybe. Have you ever wanted to turn your smartphone into an e-reader? Probably. If so, there’s a wacky little accessory from Astropad: the Bookcase. It basically makes your smartphone feel like an e-reader, like a Kindle, but without the actual benefits of an e-ink display. It’s certainly one of the more, well, interesting accessories that I’ve…
Samsung may be giving its future phones a wireless charging upgrade that will help charge their phones a lot faster, and it comes in the form of a new chip. In a blog post that was published during last week, the company said the new wireless charging chip, called the S2MIW06, is a Power Management Integrated Circuit (PMIC) that will help improve wireless charging by giving Samsung phones access to up to 50W of power. The S2MIW06 chip will support both the Qi and Qi 2.2 wireless charging standards, the latter of which is set to debut later this year.…
We’re currently living in an age where there are so many great games to choose from, and only more upcoming video games to look forward to. The biggest problem is having the time and money to play everything you want. Some games are short, others are long, but the ones that can really get their hooks in you are live-service games. These titles offer consistent updates of new content to keep you coming back for months or years at a time. They’re almost always multiplayer-focused, with cross-platform support so you can not only play almost anywhere but with whoever you…
Google announced Wednesday that it has reached an agreement with the Associated Press to build “a feed of real-time information” in Gemini. Details about the project are light at the moment but it appears as though it could at least partially mimic the functionality of Perplexity AI or ChatGPT Search. There’s no word yet on when the feed will actually roll out for users. “As we develop new AI offerings and product, we’re identifying specific types of information and data that can help improve our products and services for people everywhere,” Jaffer Zaidi, Google’s VP of global news partnerships, wrote…
Space watchers had been gearing up for an exciting evening tonight as SpaceX was set to launch its mighty Starship on its seventh test flight to date. The hope was to launch the massive rocket and have it deploy a payload for the first time, as well as facing the daunting challenge of trying to catch the rocket’s Super Heavy Booster at the launch tower in Boca Chica, Texas. However, now the test flight has been pushed back by one day due to weather conditions. The launch had been scheduled for tonight, Wednesday January 15, but SpaceX announced it would…
Terraria‘s next update might not be the last one after all. The game’s refusal to ever be “complete” is something of a running joke among fans, as the official final update landed in May 2020, only to be followed by others in October 2020 and in 2022. Another “final” update was later scheduled for late 2024 or early 2025. Version 1.4.5 is said to be the actual, we-really-mean-it-this-time final update, but it isn’t quite finished yet. Developer Re-Logic apologized for the long delay on the update, but said the team wants it to feel “just right” and promises that the…
