ASRock has unveiled a new lineup of gaming monitors under its Phantom Gaming and Challenger series, introducing high-refresh-rate displays aimed at both competitive gamers and budget-conscious users. The announcement includes multiple 27-inch monitors with 240Hz refresh rates, alongside more affordable 144Hz entry-level options, marking a broader push into the gaming display market.

High Refresh Rates Meet Affordable Gaming

At the center of the launch are three new Phantom Gaming models – PG27FFS2E, PG27FFS2E-W, and PG27FFS1A. These monitors feature 27-inch Full HD IPS panels with a 240Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time, designed to deliver smooth and responsive gameplay, particularly in fast-paced titles.

The displays also support AMD FreeSync Premium, helping eliminate screen tearing and stuttering by synchronizing refresh rates with compatible GPUs. Additionally, they offer 99% sRGB color coverage, ensuring accurate and vibrant visuals not only for gaming but also for multimedia use.

ASRock has also introduced a unique design element with the PG27FFS2E-W, which features a white color variant – a first for the company’s gaming monitor lineup – catering to users building aesthetically coordinated setups.

Designed For Comfort And Flexibility

Beyond performance, ASRock has emphasized ergonomics and usability. The higher-end models come with fully adjustable stands, supporting height adjustment, swivel, tilt, and pivot for customized viewing angles. Meanwhile, the more affordable PG27FFS1A retains core performance specs but simplifies the stand design to reduce cost.

All three monitors feature slim bezels on all sides, enhancing immersion and making them suitable for multi-monitor setups. A 5-way joystick control system allows users to easily navigate on-screen display settings and switch between different modes tailored for gaming or general use.

Additional gaming-focused features such as Dark Boost for better visibility in darker scenes and Overdrive technology for reduced motion blur further position these monitors as competitive options in their segment.

Entry-Level Options For Wider Accessibility

Alongside the 240Hz lineup, ASRock has also introduced the Challenger series CL25FFB and CL27FFB monitors, targeting entry-level users. These models offer Full HD resolution with 144Hz refresh rates, making them a more accessible option for gamers upgrading from standard displays.

Despite their lower positioning, the Challenger monitors still include AMD FreeSync support and meet ENERGY STAR 8.0 standards, highlighting a balance between performance and energy efficiency.

This dual-tier approach allows ASRock to cater to both competitive gamers seeking high refresh rates and casual users looking for affordable upgrades.

Why This Launch Matters

The introduction of 240Hz monitors at more competitive price points reflects a broader trend in the gaming industry – high-performance displays are becoming increasingly accessible. Reports suggest these models could be priced significantly lower than traditional 240Hz monitors, potentially bringing premium features to a wider audience.

By offering both high-end and entry-level options, ASRock is positioning itself to compete with established monitor brands while appealing to a diverse range of gamers.

What It Means For Gamers

For users, this launch translates into more choice and better value. Competitive players benefit from smoother motion and faster response times, which can provide an edge in fast-paced games. Meanwhile, casual gamers can access reliable performance without needing to invest heavily in premium hardware.

The addition of ergonomic features and aesthetic options also means users can tailor their setups to both functional and visual preferences.

What Comes Next

ASRock’s latest release signals a growing focus on the gaming monitor segment, and future developments could include higher-resolution panels, OLED technology, and even faster refresh rates. The company has already showcased next-generation displays with advanced features, suggesting that this launch is just the beginning of a broader expansion.

As competition intensifies in the gaming display market, innovations like these are likely to push prices down while raising the standard for performance – benefiting gamers across all levels.
