Home security is only helpful when it tells you what’s going on. In a post on the Google Home & Nest Community, Google announced that it’s bringing Gemini to AT&T Connected Life, making it the first home security service on the Google Home Platform to get it.
Google and AT&T first teamed up on Connected Life last year. This update ties Gemini to Google’s cameras, smart home gadgets, and automations.
What’s new for AT&T Connected Life users?
You can now get wired Nest Cams, Nest Doorbells, and other add-ons through AT&T. Plug in a wired camera if you never want to worry about charging, or stick a battery-powered one wherever you need it.
You can also pick between Essential and Professional monitoring plans. My favorite addition is automatic arming and disarming based on how close you are to home, so nobody has to tap a button on the way out or in.
How does Gemini make your security smarter?
Instead of vague notifications, Gemini will explain what it spotted in plain language, giving you a clearer picture of what’s going on at home. Google is also adding Gemini for Home features like Home Brief and camera search, along with round-the-clock video recording. You’re no longer stuck with short event clips, and you can search your footage to find the exact moment you need.
On top of that, Connected Life now works with multitude of other devices that support Google Home, so your security setup can play nicely with the rest of your smart home. If you’re an AT&T Connected Life user, Google wants to hear your feedback, so don’t be shy about sharing your thoughts.
