Virtua Fighter is a long-running 3D competitive fighting game that began way back in 1993. Now, we know the latest project, officially dubbed Virtua Fighter Crossroads, will launch next year.
This follows the release of last year’s Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O World Stage, a re-release of 2006’s Virtua Fighter, and is the first new entry in the series in two decades. In our first look at the game’s story, we see what appears to be the series mainstay protagonist, Akira Yuki, up against the Chinese mafia. While there is sure to be plenty of 3D fighting, this story trailer highlights some of the more cinematic moments in the upcoming game.

There’s no release date for Virtua Fighter Crossroads, nor do we know which platforms it will launch on, but it’s set for 2027.
