OnePlus has finally started rolling out the Android 16 update for the OnePlus Open in North America, nearly a month after it first arrived in India and Europe. The OxygenOS 16.0.1.300 update with the firmware version CPH2551_16.0.1.300(EX01) brings a host of improvements to the foldable phone, including smoother animations, performance optimizations powered by the Trinity Engine, and several AI feature updates.
In a recent community post, OnePlus says that the update is rolling out in batches and will reach all users over the coming days. As per the detailed changelog, the update introduces quite a few noteworthy improvements for OnePlus’ stock apps as well. The native gallery app has picked up a massive visual upgrade that offers users a more immersive experience and an updated video editor.
Redesigned apps, new AI features, and much more
OnePlus has also introduced a new voice memory feature to Mind Space that lets users hold the Plus key to record and remember ideas or thoughts more efficiently. Mind Space has even gained an assistant that can help users search through saved content. The Notes app in OxygenOS 16 supports block editing, richer text formatting, easier image view switching, and support for sharing complete notes with one link.
Other noteworthy features include a redesigned Recorder app with AI-driven noise cancellation, smarter recordings, and faster sharing. The update also adds support for more natural and responsive translations, an improved AI writing assistant that supports a wider range of content, and automatic context detection in AI VoiceScribe and Call Summary. OnePlus’ new Flux home screens with light field style icons and AI-powered Flux themes are also included.
You can check whether the update is available on your OnePlus Open by navigating to Settings > System & Updates > Software update. If you encounter any issues after installing the update, you can leave feedback by filling out the form linked in the announcement post. And if it’s something that hampers daily usability, OnePlus has provided a rollback build that will let you switch back to OxygenOS 15 until OnePlus smooths out all issues.
