On Friday, Sony Santa Monica Studios revealed that the upcoming God of War Laufey is coming sooner than expected. The game arrives February 16, 2027.

God of War Laufey was revealed during PlayStation’s Summer State of Play event, where Santa Monica Studios shared roughly 23 minutes of the game. The adventure follows Kratos’ wife and Atreus’ mother, Laufey (or Faye), after her death and arrival in the afterlife of the gods, known as the Everywhen, according to Laufey’s talking gelatinous cube and sword ribbon partners. The concept is novel for God of War and seems to take place during the events of God of War (2018), but considering the world is called the Everywhen, it’s hard to say exactly when the game takes place on the God of War timeline.
