Every time I look at an outdoor security camera, the same tedious process flashes before my eyes. Drilling into a wall, running a cable outside, and praying it survives the weather. Well, it looks like Anker’s eufy found a loophole.

Anker’s new Window Camera E10 is now available in the US for $79.99 (via Amazon). And now, for the most important bit: it’s an indoor camera that sticks to your window glass so you can watch the porch, yard, or driveway from inside (via eufy).

How does a camera behind glass see clearly?

Setting up the device is like placing a sticker on a glass pane.

All you have to do is select the indoor window pane that gives you the desired outdoor view, clean it thoroughly, peel off the protective film from the mounting sticker on the device, and press it firmly against the interior glass surface.

That’s it. No drill or tools are required, which, in my opinion, is a gift to both renters and lazy house owners. Once the camera is in place, you can connect the included USB-C cable and plug it into the power adapter.

What do you get, and what’s the catch?

A rear dial then tilts the lens down up to 25 degrees, trimming wasted sky so packages and visitors fill the frame. After dark, MaxColor Vision keeps footage in color through an f/1.0 lens.

You get 2.5K video, 24/7 recording to a microSD card up to 256GB, and AI that tells people, vehicles, and pets apart. All of that is included with no monthly fee, which is what wins me over.

The catch is the cord. With no battery, the camera needs to stay connected to a power source, and your window needs to be close to it.
